Cool Season Vegetable Gardening
October 19 @ 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Cool Season Vegetable Gardening in the Williamsburg Area with VCE Master Gardener Bill Dichtel
Williamsburg’s favorable climate and long growing season allows us to plant and harvest from spring through fall. Learn about cool season herbs and veggies to grow, along with garlic and winter cover crops such as crimson clover and mustard that improve the soil and help plantings in the next season. Bill will review vegetable crops for spring and fall planting success. He will share tips and techniques to extend viability of plantings in the cooler seasons.
Bill Dichtel is the JCCW Master Gardener team leader at both the Historic Triangle Learning Garden and the Governor’s Palace Herb Garden at Colonial Williamsburg. He is also a VCE Tree Steward and has served on the Williamsburg Botanical Garden Board of Directors.
FREE but only 48 seats are available so registration is required. Garden members in good standing will receive an email on or before October 1st with the registration link. Members have Priority until 9 am on Saturday, October 12, when registration opens to the public. We expect registration for this program to fill up quickly and spill over to a waiting list. Members on the waiting list take precedence if cancellations occur. Click here for membership info.
